In this Simpson's episode, Lisa and her class go on a field trip to the Springfield Desert state park. As her life is being threatened by scorpions, Lisa discovers the soothing effect of a certain flower on her attackers. She takes the scorpions and the flowers home where she eventually makes a serum. Meanwhile, Abe (Homers dad) gets kicked out of the retirement home and goes to live with Homer and the family. Abe presents the family with a problem as he is very grumpy and complains a lot. In an act of desperation to resolve their family issue, Homer drugs Abe with Lisa's serum where it successfully sedates and calms him. Lisa is alarmed by this and flushes the drugs down toilet and tells her grandpa of what was done. Abe was not mad at all as he said it made him happy and that people liked him more. Once Abe goes off the drug, a doctor examines him and wants to replicate the drug. Bart takes the drugs and sells them to the town's elderly. Despite a happier Springfield, one of the side effects of Lisa's drug is that your eyeballs fall out if you take the drug! The old people find themselves outside of the pharmaceutical building where they want to thank the doctor despite the negative effects of the drugs. Eventually the manufacturer decides to stop making the drug. At the end of the episode Homer destroys his car while the old people fix it. This episode illustrates the effects of drugs and how the younger generations get stupid as time goes on. One of the sad things in this life is that when I look around, it seems kind of true.
