In this week's episode, A Midsummer's Nice Dream, the plot mainly focused on the infamous duo, Cheech and Chong. In the episode, they return for a reunion show that the Simpson family, specifically homer, is exited to watch watch. During the skits, Cheech and Chong get into an argument where Chong refuses to continue with the show because everyone already knows the lines and he thinks the material is old. As a result of their altercation, Chong leaves and Homer ends the show with Cheech. After the show, Cheech and Chong to go their own ways. Homer teams up with Cheech while Principal Skinner joins Chong. Homer soon realizes the harsh reality that working with Cheech would not just be fun and games. Meanwhile, Santa's little helper runs away and gets into the cat lady's house where Marge and Lisa go to fetch him. While in the cat lady's house, Marge discovers that she is a hoarder and decides to help her out. By cleaning out the cat lady's house, Marge eventually takes a fancy towards the deed and picks up her own hoarding addiction. In the end, Homer gets the cat lady to convince Marge to stop her hoarding. Eventually Cheech and Chong get back together and all is well in the town of springfield. I think this episode was trying to show two things. I think it wanted to aware the audience of how detrimental some addictions are and how it can really affect someones future. The other thing the episode was trying to show is how you shouldn't let your pride get in the way of your relationship with others. I guess what I ultimately got from this episode is that you should avoid things that you should get addicted to such as weed, or bad habits in order to live a better life.
